It’s so fun to discover a gem of a boutique in a small town. In Delcambre, that would be Little Lagniappe owned by Hollie Frederick. Located on Highway 14, the store has a surprising variety of gifts and clothing for adults and children.

With experience in retail, Hollie opened in 2022 and has used her knack for buying what customers want.

While visiting there, I drifted straight to the jewelry section and scoped out the new lines by Lex the Label and M Collectives.

Close by are perfumes from Maison Kin and the fresh summer scents of Lorelei. The bath and body products by Niven Morgan and Musee are the ultimate indulgence or pampering gifts.

Speaking of indulgence, there are smell goods for the laundry as well, with new scents from Mavwicks Fragrances, along with a line from Acadiana Pride, which is made in Youngsville. And your house will smell intoxicating with home fragrances from Greenleaf or Claire Burke.

For the trip to the beach, the store offers beach bags, fun sunglasses and quick-dry, sand-resistant beach towels, along with SWIG coolers, cups and koozies.

Short and long pajama sets by Mary Square and Royal Standard are popular among women.

Gumbo bowls and spoons make great wedding gifts. (True gumbo spoons are not easy to find.)

Children’s clothing is available from sizes newborn to 14/16. Hollie says the Properly Tide-brand boys and men wear are one of the store’s biggest sellers.  A Delcambre native, Hollie enjoys offering unique gifts that represent her hometown, including clothing that features shrimp and the local school mascot, panthers. Later this summer, expect new shrimp-themed merchandise in preparation for the shrimp festival in August.

If you find yourself even near Delcambre before Father’s Day, make a point to stop by Little Lagniappe where some items for dad will be arriving soon, including clothes and unique whiskey smoking sets.

“I’ve always wanted to open a store here,” says Hollie. “I’m proud that I get to offer local and custom items to the residents. I’m always open to suggestions to make our store more appealing and to offer the best service I can for customers.”

Located at the stop light in Delcambre, the boutique is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 am -5:30 pm and on Saturday from 9 am-1 pm.
